A Day in Our Lives

It is 8am and Claire is already down for her first nap. Makes you wonder what time she got up this morning! Claire is growing so fast and is looking more and more like a "toddler" verses a baby. It is funny to actually look through books with Claire and label the pictures as babies!

Claire's vocabulary is growing each day. She now says, mama, papa, dada, ba/ball (ball), na (nose), nana (banana), no, and mo mama (more mama). She is also starting to try animal sounds: woof and grrr. It is so much fun to watch her world expanding. She loves looking at picture books and pointing at everything. In fact, books are the only toys she plays with. She will rarely play with anything else. Unless it is an assessory she can carry around with her: a purse, jacket, hat, glasses...

Joshua is working 4- 10 hour days in his work week now. Gives him a nice, long three day weekend, but makes the evenings at home with us shorter. The long weekends are nice for trips. This upcoming weekend we are planning a trip over to Marquette to visit Joshua's family.

During the day, I, Stephanie, try not to overdue my physical activity as Baby #2 is getting larger. I loved being outside yesterday gardening- the first time this year- but I was definitly limited in the amount of time I could shovel and lift. I was substitute teaching a lot this past month, as well as working at the church and tutoring, but I am slowing down as the school year ends. A much welcomed break. I enjoy being home with Claire so much that working at school isn't as enjoyable.

Well, I am going to close the first posting on our new blog. Just wanted to give you a summary of things going on here in Grand Marais, MN!
