It snowed and snowed, the whole world over, Snow swept the world from end to end. A candle burned on the table; A candle burned.
- Boris Pasternak
Oh the joys of a winter in Indiana. Rain and ice one day, and snow and 0 degree temperatures the next. Living in a area where winter is short and "good snow" is absent, I am reminded how much I do enjoy winter. There is a contentment sitting inside, watching the snow pile up...preferably with a warm fire in the wood stove (those are rare here in IN). I also love the neighborliness that you can watch take place: things like helping each other clear a drive way or coming out with snow gear on just to say hi. If its going to be cold, you may as well have snow on the ground to add a "cleanness" to the drab world underneath.
