For our long weekend holiday, we made a trip over to Michigan to visit with Joshua's family. Our trip began at 3:15am on Friday morning. Joshua was excited to start our trip at this time and allowed us to make it to MI with the afternoon and evening ahead of us. Claire traveled well, but did not go back to sleep immediatly after our early start. We had a great weekend, doing the classical "weekend" activities: grilled out, read a book, went on walks, ate ice cream, and had our first summer watermelon! Claire enjoyed the time visiting with her Nanny, Grandpa Dean, and Great Grandpa Bop. Her time with them lasted even longer than the weekend as she stayed with them throughout the next week after we headed home to MN. We missed her, but it was oh so good for her to have that time getting to know her grandparents in MI!!! I think they loved having her too and filled their week with walks around the yard, trips to library, and playing together.
While in MI, Joshua and I were able to get away and hike up to an overlook of Lake Superior. It was a nice hike and a beautiful day. (This pic kind of shows you what I look like pregnant at this point - 31 weeks- I may not look huge, but I am deep and wide )
Thanks Sara Jane and Dean for the great weekend in MI!!
